Linear System Project
Students will be able to solve a linear system graphically.
Make up your own linear system or graph one of the following:
y= 3x-4 and y= -3x+2
y= 4x-1 and y= -x+4
y= 3x+4 and y= -3x-4
Explain how you graphed the two linear functions
State the solution
Check your solution algebraically
Linear functions should be graphed on graph paper
Use a ruler
Label the x and y axes and the equations
Label the origin
Make sure your project is neat and mathematically accurate
Include a self evaluation

Graphing Calculator
For the Integrated Algebra Regents you will be required to use a graphing calculator. There is an online graphing calculator application that you can download or you can purchase one to practice with. If you have an older sibling check with them, as they might already have one you can borrow.
Online graphing calculator application: http://education.ti.com/educationportal/sites/US/productDetail/us_sdk_73_83_84.html Before you download the calculator be sure to ask for permission from your parent/guardian.
The application is a little confusing at first, but if you follow the directions carefully you can get a virtual graphing calculator.
Steps:Click download (underneath the picture of the calculator) and Click the TI-83 Plus SDK Run
Once the application is download
Open up the application
File newSelect TI-83 PlusView Calculator
Debug Go
Your calculator should be fully functional. Enjoy practicing with your virtual calculator!

Assessments this Week
Be sure to bring in pencils for the ELA and Math Assessments
You can review the results of these assessments at https://nyc-acuity.mcgraw-hill.com/
In most cases your USERNAME is your first and last name (without any spaces). Your PASSWORD is your Student ID number. You can find your student ID number on your report card. (Please see me if you are unable to obtain this number.) The grades for these assessments should be available in approximately two weeks.
