Graphing Calculator

Online graphing calculator application: http://education.ti.com/educationportal/sites/US/productDetail/us_sdk_73_83_84.html Before you download the calculator be sure to ask for permission from your parent/guardian.

The application is a little confusing at first, but if you follow the directions carefully you can get a virtual graphing calculator (similar to the one I use in class on the Smartboard).

Steps:Click download (underneath the picture of the calculator) and Click the TI-83 Plus SDK Run
Once the application is download
Open up the application
File newSelect TI-83 PlusView Calculator
Debug Go
Your calculator should be fully functional. Enjoy practicing with your virtual calculator!

Project

Prove the 3, 4, 5 right triangle, the 6, 8, 10 or the 12, 13, 15 and a triangle of your choice.

***You can also prove the theorem using the lengths of three squares.

Measure and cut out the two triangles

Evaluate a^2+ b^2= c^2 for both triangles

Form your own conclusion about whether the Pythagorean Theorem works

Make sure the project is neat
